Michael Shaw

Michael Shaw is a professional-level pickleball competitor (5.434 DUPR) and PPR Certified Coach at Holey Ballz, bringing elite tournament experience and strategic insight to players of all levels. His coaching focuses on improving mechanics, shot selection, court positioning, and confidence under pressure — all delivered in an encouraging, high-energy environment.

Michael’s philosophy blends intentional practice, disciplined development, and a winning mindset to help athletes build skills, resilience, and measurable results on the court.

Barry Turnbull

Coach Barry Turnbull is a PPR Certified PRO-Level Instructor (top 7% nationwide) with 15+ years of elite teaching experience and a 4.75 DUPR rating. A former collegiate scholarship tennis player and touring professional, Barry combines high-level technique, strategic insight, and motivational coaching to deliver real, measurable improvement.

He has developed hundreds of players through leadership roles with Fruit Cove Recreation Club, the St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association, All Sport Arena, and Turnbull Pickleball Academy. Known for simplifying complex skills and creating structured, results-driven lessons, Barry helps players improve mechanics, strategy, and confidence under pressure.

International Athlete & Certified Pickleball Coach

Bequi Luizelli

Bequi is an athlete and coach who believes sport is a place of belonging and growth. A former member of Brazil’s National Team, she has competed internationally — including the 2025 Pickleball World Cup — bringing global experience and perspective to every lesson. Locally, she has coached at established clubs throughout the Jacksonville area, helping players of all ages build strong foundations and confidence on the court.

Her coaching blends technical fundamentals with emotional resilience, confidence-building, and a healthy relationship with competition. With a special focus on women’s development and junior programs, Bequi emphasizes connection, trust, and presence as essential elements of effective coaching.

She is also involved in youth initiatives such as Better Together, an inter-club training and competition program designed to support junior athletes. As a parent of two athletes herself, Bequi brings a grounded, compassionate approach that encourages growth, enjoyment, and long-term success in sport.
